The fun things we do to our children!

Ok I am an evil mom! :)   We got a new computer for the family that is one of those HP touchscreen monitors.  Anyway, we got a new wireless printer with it and it sits with the computer in the family room.  The kids have not left the room all day. And they have been nice to each other the WHOLE day.  (Joys and wonders of Christmas!)  Tonight I had my laptop on and I needed to test the printer so I sent a note to the kids that said:  "I am the printer who are you?"  Then I waited and listened to their giggling and screaming of "the printer is alive!"  Of course they ran to the living room to see James and I and we pleaded innocent.

Ten minutes later I sent one that read " I am still waiting to find out who you are." and "go to bed immediately".  More screaming and giggling and I followed it up 10 minutes later with "why are you still up?"  Griffin chose to go to bed because the printer told him to.  However the girls are actually talking to the printer and telling it their names and stuff.  Gillian says it has to be me because I look guilty.  This has been way too much fun!

Here are pictures of the alphabet book I made for my brother's twin boys.

A few of my favorite scrapbook tools part 1.... Stickles

Everyone who scraps with me knows that if they show me a page they are working and asks me what is missing, my answer will usually be Stickles!

What are Stickles?  I do understand there are people who have not had the wonderful chance to work with Stickles so I will introduce you....

Stickles is glitter glue. But it really is not just any old glitter glue.  It is made by Tim Holtz and Ranger and it is the ONLY way to add glitter to your cards or layouts.  There is a wide range of colors and you can use it on everything such as paper, chipboard and more.  It is inexpensive and you will love it!  Let me know if you can't find it and I will be able to get some for you.

I brought up the topic of Stickles tonight is because I am working on my Christmas cards and they needed that something extra so out came my big bag of Stickles!

Here are a few more pieces of my work.  Thanks for looking.

December already? And it is half over!

Greetings Blog Fans!

Well, it is December 14!  Wow, where did the year go?  Guess it is time to think about making my Christmas cards now.  You all will be lucky to get them by Valentine's Day!
But, it's the thought that counts, right?

Today and tonight was the Christmas concert at the twins' school.  It is good that they still let them sing Silent Night... I won't get into that much more.  The concert was very nice and I will add some pictures soon.  I will also add pictures of Griffin's very first band concert which was last month.

I am very happy to say that my Christmas shopping is 95% done.  We have really changed our focus here at Family Lenth, this year.  We cut way back on the gifts, too.  We have always taught our kids the true meaning and purpose for Christmas but we are putting more emphasis on Jesus who is THE reason for the season.  They are older now at almost 9 and 12 and it all is coming together nicely.  I will be proud to sit back and make my preparations in my heart, mind and soul,  for this holiest of days.  Others will be rushing around to find the perfect gift. Me?
I already have it!

Giving Thanks all month long in November

Hello

This month of November has just flown by.  We are just days from Thanksgiving and inching closer and closer to Christmas.

The month of November I have been setting my Facebook status to things I am thankful for.  I have chosen a different topic each day.  So far I have given all thanks to God for my husband James, my 3 kids- Griffin, Gretchen and Gillian; extended family cousin Tim and wife LeAnn and cousin Mark and wife Jessica, having a roof over my head, our church home- DeWitt Lutheran Fellowship and the pastors there, Christian celebrities who give praise and honor to God and are advocates of causes such as the homeless in America, adoption and protecting our children from predators.  And the list goes on....

There are so many things that I am thankful for and the month of November doesn't have enough days to list them all.  Of course most of all I am thankful for God who gave his only son Jesus to us.

November has also been a busy craft month for me.  I have been making gifts and starting my Christmas cards, (I have a long way to go for that!).  I also purchased a few new cricut cartridges too!

This year we have opted to stay home for Thanksgiving.  We had planned to go to Ohio to be with my Stauffer family but it just isn't in the cards- too much $$ for hotels.  So we will have a meal here for the first time in 9 years and then visit the Lenths over the weekend.

I might go shopping with friend Katie on black friday.  We don't know what we are shopping for but we might just do it anyway.  (there are always scrapbook items on sale!)

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and drive safely wherever you may go.  Remember to give thanks for all your blessings, both large and small.  God is so good to us all!

Some of my favorite paper creations made by ME.....

This was for the Clinton County Fair
the theme was Voyage to Greatness
So I made the display for Griffin's club-
Orange Future Leaders
The close up is the boat with a picture
of each of the members and the
top row pic is the President of the Club
The poster was made using my
Cricut Expression Die-Cut machine

This was made by me for my grandma's
90th birthday.  It is a card keeper.  The idea is
for her to know when all the birthdays and
anniversaries are in the family because
she likes to remember us with cards. So
I also made cards to put in for each month.

This is Jame's family from Sept. when his sister
came home from California.

This was a challenge item from a group
I belong to. The theme was to make a layout
using something that was not traditionally
a scrapbook item.  I used the license
plate from James' car from when we met
in 1992.  Then I told the story about the
cars he drove when we met.
I won 1st prize.

This was a layout I made as a member of
the Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends Network
Design Team.
The theme was birds and flowers.

This is just a page from my book about me.
It is a picture of my cousin and I when we were about 6
and 12 months old.  We were the only
grandchildren at that time.
